Our client eBay asked Connects to create an influencer campaign showcasing eBay as THE destination to get involved in the circular economy

The Approach

Home became the centre of our universe in 2020. We had to make it work for our 9-5, date nights, downtime, everything. We partnered eBay with celebrities and influencers to create content demonstrating the win-win of selling your pre-loved items on eBay, then buying something you love with the cash to improve your home.

Lead talent Paddy McGuinness created hilarious, authentically-eBay IGTV and raw edit Instagram Stories – repurposed for paid ads across eBay’s channels. Paddy’s content was all about empowering everyone to live their best life and improve their home, championing the phrase: ‘Life comes together when you Buy.Sell.eBay.’

Connects also engaged with influencers including Paul Olima and Louise Boyce to produce TikTok and Instagram video content delivering visibility and awareness with ‘Swipe Up To Shop’ and clickable link features.

The Results

The campaign surpassed KPIs across the board.

The positive sentiment was overwhelming, from “Oh love a bit of eBay!” to “I’m not an eBay Mom, but your reel makes me want to be one…”.
