The Brief

COVID-19 inspired so many – from Captain Tom to Justin Bieber – to help others. It was a time of community spirit and togetherness –  despite everyone being physically apart. So when celebrities Frankie Bridge and Laura Whitmore wanted to clear out their wardrobes and donate 100% of the money raised to charity, we knew our client eBay was the perfect partner.

The Approach

Laura and Frankie set to work, gathering over 50 seriously stylish items to sell on eBay. To ensure the fans would engage with their clothes and accessories, they shared images of them wearing them or told their glamorous back stories (hey BAFTA shoes).

Once their charity auctions were live, Frankie and Laura were briefed to promote them across their social channels, to raise awareness and give context to their chosen charities; Help Refugees Limited for Laura  and NHS Charities Together for Frankie.

The Results

In 7 days over £6,000 was raised for charity by Frankie & Laura, via eBay UK!

The ‘eBay for Charity’ auctions were broadcast to Frankie and Laura’s 2.2M social followings.

Sentiment was super positive, fans commenting how they thought it was a great way to show support and proudly sharing their winning bids! Many mentioned how they now felt inspired to get involved in eBay’s Big Charity Sell too. We loved working on something so meaningful and rewarding with our awesome client eBay.
