Get the lowdown on Career Kickstarter x Creative Mentor Network

Need to create a CV but no idea where to start? Do you have a job interview on the horizon and you’re after the tips for success?

Look no further.

Career Kickstarter is back, and we’re once again partnered with the brilliant Creative Mentor Network to offer advice to young people looking to enter the creative industry. With just 16% of those in creative roles being from working-class backgrounds*, our partnership aims to support those most in need of support.

On 18th September, five members of Connects – from strategy to design teams - will open up their calendars to offer everything from CV clinics, cover letter workshops, advice on interview techniques and more [psst - if you’re interested in hearing more about booking in, you can visit this page].

What is Creative Mentor Network?

This is Connects’ second year partnering with Creative Mentor Network, and we wanted to share more about the brilliant work they do.

Creative Mentor Network is a UK charity supporting class diversity within the creative industries. Since 2014 they’ve supported over 2,000 young people, giving them access to professional networks, support, skill development and opportunities they may otherwise not have access to.

Careers in Creative Industries should be open to everyone, and this ethos is present throughout all that CMN do – whether it’s running mentorship programmes, or training workshops to ensure workplaces are as inclusive as possible.

“Bringing people together is a core part of our work at Creative Mentor Network. Opportunities like this can help young people see what jobs are available to them, give them confidence and show them that they belong. Not only this, it helps companies like SEEN Connects find and connect with talent who can bring new and exciting voices to the table.” Miles Zilesnick, Creative Mentor Network.
